Dr Caoimhe Clarke
Clinical and Coaching Psychologist
About me
I founded Saol Psychology to bring high-quality psychological thinking to both individuals and organisations. I find it deeply rewarding to help create meaningful change, in people's lives, and in the cultures they work within.
Before founding Saol Psychology, I spent almost ten years in NHS mental health services, most recently as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in adult mental health teams. Before that, I spent five years working as a mental health researcher at the University of Glasgow, contributing to large-scale randomised controlled trials.
Psychological therapy
I aim to create a compassionate, comfortable, and relaxed space where you feel safe to explore your difficulties. Building a trusting, authentic relationship is at the heart of my work, providing a secure foundation for understanding yourself more deeply and working through life’s challenges.
I support people in navigating many psychological difficulties, such as:
Stress and burnout
Relationship difficulties
Childhood trauma
Anxiety and panic
Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours
Approaches used:
Schema Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I have a specialist interest in Schema Therapy. A powerful approach that helps make sense of longstanding patterns in how we think, feel, and relate. It has not only shaped my clinical work, but has helped me better understand my own responses and behaviours in my life, work and relationships. Read my blog post on“Is Schema Therapy the right approach for you?” to find out more.
Coaching and Workplace Culture
I am passionate about the application of psychological approaches to understanding workplace culture and developing the leaders within them. I help leaders and teams move from the thinking and behavioural patterns they've defaulted into, towards a culture they've built on purpose.
Drawing on both Clinical and Coaching Psychology, I develop bespoke, evidence-based programmes that get underneath the "soft politics" of an organisation. They target the individual patterns that quietly shape team dynamics, relationships, and culture.
My work is developed in collaboration with your organisation, so it's relevant, impactful, and aligned with your organisation's values and goals from the outset. Click here for more information on how we can work together.
